How long does it take Longs/CVS to print personalized greeting cards? I created a card today, with a personal photo on it, but I was confused about how long it will take to be printed. If anyone's ordered these online before, how long did they take to be finished?
Leanne replied: ".. invites shoppers to craft personalized e-gifts for all occasions, ... The personalized gift cards are sent to recipients via email and may be ... Upon receiving a virtual gift card, recipients simply print out their ... The Company operates more than 6900 CVS/pharmacy and Longs Drugs stores"
rayt721 replied: "At Walgreens, depending on how many other orders are pending, can take minutes. If you create the card online, it should tell you the pickup time and you select the store to pick up at."
Can I use a Longs gift card at CVS pharmacies, since CVS bought Longs? My sister wants Longs gift cards for Christmas, but Longs will change to CVS in 2009, so I want to make sure she'll be able to use them before I buy them.
Peter B replied: "you will, no problems there, if you still doubt it then just ask before you buy,"
How do I sell into Walgreens, CVS, Longs, etc.? I have a bulk product that I will be packaging and selling wholesale. How do the major pharmacy stores evaluate which products they carry? Thanks in advance.
dusty_titus replied: "You'll have to deal with those stores on the "corporate" level. First, try a "prototype" to show to local stores in your area. You may get orders from the individual store managers, they may have leeway to promote items - if not ask them for references to corporate (at least telephone numbers and names)"
Anybody upset with CVS pharmacies that were formely Sav-On or Longs Drug? For the past 25 years I have lived a block from a Sav-On drug store. Almost 3 years ago CVS took over my local Sav-On drug store.
When CVS took over things turned for the worst. CVS rearranged the store and moved the ailes around. CVS discontinued at least half of the items Sav-on used to carry.
Sav-On was terrific with long isles, large product variety, efficient check outs and clean stores.
Several items that I use CVS doesn't carry but Savon did. My floor wax cleaner I have to buy at Vons market now. Toms mouthwash I have to buy at Whole Foods or Target. CVS only carries 2 varieties of Toms toothpaste. Sav-on used to carry 5 varieties of Toms toothpaste. The type of Toms toothpaste that I like I can buy at Whole Foods or Target.
In the cold beverage isle CVS does not carry Snapple while Sav-on did. CVS doesn't carry any cold iced tea. CVS only carries ice cold Coke and Pepsi products.
One liter glass bottles of Pierrer sparking water in lime, lemon and plain were carried by Sav-On and CVS no longer carries them.
A few weeks ago I went into a Longs drug store that was just converted into a CVS and they removed everything Longs was known for.
For 23 years I walked to my local Sav-on store 4 times a week to buy necessities. Since the store changed to CVS I go once very 2 months.
When I do go to my local CVS I leave unhappy because I can't find what I need. Sav-on used to have checkstands with conveyor belts when CVS has on cashier open with 10 people waiting in line.
CVS mostly stocks their shelfves with their own CVS brand product.
CVS discontinued the sale of fresh flowers at former Sav-on drug stores.
CVS didn't do market research before buying out Sav-on and longs.
In my opinion I think that CVS was go out of bussiness in Southern and Northern California becasue of their crappy, worthless and junky merchandise stores.
The FTC(federal trade comission) should have blocked the sale of Longs Drugs to CVS.
Many Southern California areas had only CVS and Longs. CVS formed a major mononpoly.
Light Knight replied: "A few years ago many of the smaller independent pharmacies in my area were bought out by Rite-Aid. I miss the concern, and individuality those places had. They were directly tied into the neighborhoods in which they existed.
I see the same thing happening with CVS. They are "stream lining" the inventories to what they thing the most people will buy. In a way they are right. If I go in to get Tom's peppermint toothpaste and all they have is spearmint, I will still need toothpaste and get it."
Does Longs Drugs (West coast drug store run by CVS) carry the Essence of Beauty line of products? Specifically the lip butter/balms
I've read some reviews of people online who have tried the Essence of Beauty lip balms by CVS. Some reviews I read talked about CVS selling them at 18 cents a piece! Just wondering if Longs Drugs, a drug store run by CVS, carried the lip balms. I would love to try them, especially at 18 cents a piece!
candace b replied: "You can call your local Longs to ask them."
IAnybody that works or has worked for longs's (CVS)!! can you help me? I’m applying to work @ long’s (CVS) and they ask me for at least two professional references, but I have never worked before. What should I do? They ask me for name, work pone number, business relationship, company, and years known, but I don’t know wat to write if I have never worked before. CAN ANYBODY THAT WORKS FOR THEM IN CALIFORNIA HELP ME!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Jeremy M replied: "what you need to do if you want to get a job is speak to the manager. not the shift manager but the store manager.
hand him the incomplete application and explain that you left the section blank because you've never worked before. Tell him that you hope that after he hires you, he'll be a reference for you.
then do a good job so you can get your first reference."
Aimee R replied: "You can also use teachers, advisors, preacher/pastor's, etc.. that can attest to your character."
How long does the CVS application stay active? I applied for a CVS store hourly position a while ago. How long does my application stay active? I searched everywhere on the website and it doesn't say.
J Mac replied: "I worked at CVS for over a year from July 06 to Aug, 07.
I believe it states in the fine print that they keep it on file for up to a year, but I could be wrong. The fine print is or at least used to be in one of those subdisclosures that everyone signs before reading because lets face it "its just a bunch a mumbo jumbo to protect them anyways" It took them about 6 weeks from the time I applied to get a pre-employment drug test results, background check, and finally start my training.
When you fill out the application you have to answer a personality test. One part scores how you are likely to perform in customer service and the other part scores how dependable you will likely be. You either get green, yellow, or red. If you got red on either part, CVS will not even give you a call back normally b/c the corporate policy says they can't hire you anyways. I got hired and was later informed that I got green on dependability part and yellow on customer service. What sealed the deal was my interview. I came dressed approriately, was courteous, and smile (you don't want to come across as an unhappy person b/c then no one will want to work with you)
The chief pharmacist told me once that very few people get green on both and that all but one of the current pharmacy techs got yellow on at least one part.
Goodluck"
How do you feel about Longs Drugs being taken over by CVS? After living a block away from a Sav-on drug store for years and Sav-on turning into CVS I made the switch to Longs.
Sav-on was a clean store with large product selections and had things in stock most of the time. When CVS took Sav-on over things changed for the worst. CVS's product selection in much more limited than Sav-on's was and CVS is always out of products that I need.
After CVS took over Sav-on many items I used to buy at Sav-on are no longer carried by CVS. The CVS that was a former Sav-on is now dirty and dsiorganized.
For a year and a half I switched over to Longs Drugs because Longs always has products in stock and carries what I like and need.
Longs being taken over by CVS is horrible. After hearing the news a few days ago it made me sick that these large companies are taking over the whole country and place customer service last.
Sadly enough Longs is going to be converted into CVS's store format.
I have complained to the manager at CVS and he tells me it is out of his countrol and under corporates.
here is an article about the merger between Longs and CVS.

Bryan R replied: "no idea dont care, i work for walgreens and it sux though"
magnifique replied: "I agree, CVS isn't the best.
Maybe you should write a letter to the manager of the store, or talk to him about the conditions of the store.
I totally agree with you however."
aqua replied: "I love longs, hope it dont change much here."
BimBo™ replied: "well i have never herd of longs drugs but i dont think its right for CVS to just come and take over- right them a demand or make a protest fight for waht you believe in dude!!!! go i know u can beat them its not fair and its your country so fight for the longs drugs!!"
? replied: "Oh, man...I feel your pain! I live about a block away from what used to be a great Sav-On! And then came CVS! :(
Now, to give credit where credit is due, I *do* like some of the changes that came with it. Particularly in their health and beauty section. They carry a lot more brands than Sav-On ever did, including several more natural lines, like Dr. Bronner's, Alba, and Burt's Bees. They also carry Boots, a really good product line from the UK.
But in general, it really went downhill. Their greeting card section sucks now. Cleaning product selection is almost non-existent. And I hate how when you use their club card thingy, they give you a receipt about three feet long that has coupons you'll never use! Argh.
Sad to hear they're buying out Longs, now, too. Mostly these days, I've been getting drug store items at Target. It's further away and I have to drive there, but I just can't stand that CVS!!!
--->Good Luck!"
SHOULD LONGS MERGE WITH CVS and KEEP JOBS or MERGE with WALGREEN'S AND LOSE JOBS? IF they take the CVS Deal - They can complete it this year and has going through ANTI-TRUST rules
IF THEY TAKE THE WALGREEN'S DEAL - EXPECT DELAY, MAYBE NOT PASSING ANTI-TRUST RULES and THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OUT OF JOBS
sasha1966 replied: "Since Walgreens is offering more money to buyout Longs stock, the decision is really up to Longs shareholders not random people here on YA.
And you have a lot of "ifs" and "maybes" in your question. The question of passing anti-trust rules is not definite. And why can't Longs employees be picked up by the ever expanding, always hiring, Walgreens?
Besides, your question is so exploitative of YA that I'm sure it will be reported soon."
Has anyone tried..................from CVS, Longs. etc.? Boots Botanics Complexion Refining Concealer Stick - Chamomile

duhhhirox replied: "hmmm i've never seen it before, but usually things from cvs are good."
